The Inspired King James Bible
The 1611 King James Bible Defended
by David J. Stewart
When I was growing up, I remember my mother often sleeping with her Bible held in her arms. I didn't think much about it at the time, but now I look back and cherish those memories. I'd like to now share with you the reason why I only use the King James Bible.
"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" (Hebrews 1:1,2)
Jesus is called "The Word of God" in Revelation 19:13...
"And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."
Jesus is the "Living Word" and the Bible is the "Written Word." The Bible says that God speaks to us nowadays through God's Son, Jesus. Since Jesus is the Word of God, God speaks to us through His Word. I believe this Book in the English Language is the magnificent King James Bible. I believe all others are imposters!
The Bible tells us in Matthew 4:4 that we are to live by "every Word" of God...
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)
If I am to live by "every word of God", then I need an EVERY WORD Bible.
Understandably, translations in varying languages won't contain the same exact number of words, BUT a genuine translation WILL at least convey the original meaning of the original language. This is the beauty of the King James Bible. The Translators were so careful with their translating that they dare not add anything without allowing us to see exactly what they added. Hence, the italics throughout the King James Bible. The italics were added because the translators thought it essential to properly convey the true meaning of the original languages. Modern translators are not as ethical.
The argument nowadays is over which Greek and Hebrew sources are reliable. Some say that Westcott and Hort's Greek Bible, based on the Egyptian Alexandrian Manuscripts are reliable. By the way, the Jehovah Witnesses use Westcott and Hort's Greek for their New World Translation. Others say that the "Textus Receptus" (or received text) from Antioch Rome is the reliable text. Our precious King James Bible comes from the "Textus Receptus." By the way, all of I John 5:7 "IS" found in the Textus Receptus!
No other "so-called" Bible available today uplifts and honors Jesus Christ as much as the King James Bible. The King James honors Jesus Christ for Who He truly is --God Almighty. When I had learned what I Timothy 3:16 had been degraded to in the New International Version (NIV), I couldn't believe why any true Christian would even consider using an NIV ever again. I Timothy 3:16 in the King James Bible says that "...God was manifest in the flesh..." Do you know what the devil's folks have reduced it to in the NIV? "...He was revealed in a body..."
Did you know that the King James Bible contains dozens of references to person after person bowing down to worship the Lord Jesus Christ? In the NIV, every mention of the word "worship" was reduced to the mere word "knelt." How wicked! How deceitful! You see friend, you can kneel before a dignitary without worshipping him; however, the King James Bible tells us that these folks WORSHIPPED Jesus!!!
To me, the humdinger atrocity of them all is what the NIV does to John 3:16. The word "begotten" is missing, gone, zilch. It is true that God has many sons (you and me as adopted saints), but God only has one "begotten Son"--Jesus Christ. How in the world can anyone accept a Bible that removes the word "begotten" from John 3:16 is beyond me. The NIV goes in my garbage pail!
My mama didn't have a college degree, but she knew the Bible was God's inerrant, inspired and preserved Word. She didn't know any Greek, but she had enough sense to know that the Word "begotten" belonged in John 3:16. She wasn't a scholar, but she knew that the King James's Words "God was manifest in the flesh" made a whole lot more sense than "He was revealed in a body." It's common sense folks! It doesn't require a knowledge of the Greek to discern the truth, just a love of the dear Savior. Don't tell me you love Jesus if you choose to continue using an NIV after reading this.
The NIV also removes the word "sodomite"--to cater to a nation that is going over a moral waterfall. I double-dog dare you to read the introductory notes at the beginning of any NIV bible. You'll find where they claim that their bible is AT BEST, a flawed copy of the original. They admit that their bible "falls short of its goals." They believe ALL bibles are flawed (and they state so in their introductory statements in the NIV). They do NOT believe that we have God's INERRANT and PRESERVED Word for today. On the contrary, The King James Bible proclaims in Psalm 12:6-8
"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted." (Psalm 12:6-8)
Though some foolish people have claimed that this promise of preservation refers only to the saints (rather than God's Word), it couldn't be more obvious as to what the Bible is promising here--"The WORDS OF THE LORD are pure." How pure? "As silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times..." WOW! What a contrast from the lame mumbo-jumbo in the front of every NIV bible. Read it for yourself! You'll also find that the "committee" (God spare us from more committees) chose to assemble a bible which was not based on "sectarian-bias." In other words, they wanted to reach a very large customer-base so they watered down God's Word to appease the masses of heathen religion. I've never met a soul-winner who wasn't a King James Bible-totin' fool for Jesus. Count me in!!!
As I mentioned, I grew up in a rough home. Just as my mother desperately held to God's Word, so do I. I seek no sympathy, everyone has problems. My faith is in the Lord and I wouldn't be here today if His grace hadn't seen me through. I thank God with a debt of gratitude which cannot be adequately expressed in words for the King James Bible, it has become my life.
I feel sorry for those believers who are still in the dark concerning the truth of God's Word. I sincerely doubt if many of them are truly saved. I think we'd be shocked if we knew just how many people who claim the name of Christ are not legitimate believers. Nearly every false religion claims the name of Christ, but it is a dead claim. The Jehovah Witnesses (a false religion) even teach people to accept Christ as their Savior nowadays. Yet they are teaching people to accept a Jesus (lower cap intended) who is not God; a Jesus who was once Michael the archangel in Heaven; a Jesus Who never rose bodily from the grave; a Jesus who is a false Jesus!!! They have not seen the true Jesus!
"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:40)
Have you seen the Son? The True Son of God, Who is Almighty God! What is the will of God to be saved according to John 6:40? First, you must "SEE THE SON." You can believe on a fake Jesus all you want to, but you will be ashamed someday--you will be disappointed! You will go to hell. Second, you must "BELIEVE ON HIM." That's it friend! To be saved, you need only to come as a hell-deserving sinner to the Genuine Lord Jesus Christ of the King James Bible and believe on Him for the forgiveness of your sins. Phooey on the watered-down NIV Jesus. By the way, Philippians 2:6 in the NIV says that Jesus is NOT God. Phooey on the Jehovah Witnesses Jesus who is only Michael. Phooey on the Jesus of Catholicism who is no greater than Mary in their false religion. Phooey on the Muslim Jesus who was only a mere prophet. Blessed be the Name of the true God --Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords, Eternal Almighty God, the Everlasting Father.
Yes, for me there is ONLY one book, the old book, the King James Bible!
May God speak to your heart, as these words have spoken to your mind.
