The Deadly Deception Of Designated Drivers

By David J. Stewart | September 2014

The booze cartel thugs who produce, market and distribute billions of gallons of alcoholic beverages to Americans year-after-year, also have millions of gallons of innocent blood on their hands. Unlike sinful men who always look for excuses to minimize and evade responsibility for their destructive behavior, the holy God of the Bible holds all men fully accountable for their actions. Romans 14:12, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

The booze cartel, legislatures, judges, politicians and their hoodlum lawyers are responsible for the injury, crippling and deaths of millions of Americans. Although they attempt to excuse themselves by shifting the blame upon the foolish people who consume their alcoholic products, the fact of the matter is that the beer companies spend billions of dollars to scientifically market their poison to the masses. The woeful lack of personal responsibility is shared by beer company executives, attorneys, judges, professional sports, legislatures and politicians as much as the beer drinkers themselves! God hates the booze trafficking business!

One of the biggest deadly deceptions that we keep hearing from the beer industry is to choose a “designtaed driver.” What a joke! Wild boozing partygoers have been brainwashed by beer company propaganda that it's ok to get drunk, just so long as you don't operate any machinery or powered vehicles (such as an automobile). MADD (mothers against drunk drivers) shamefully and hypocritically preach a lame message of “Don't drunk and drive,” while supporting the consumption of booze. After decades of preaching to the choir and accomplishing little, you'd think that MADD would wake up and smell the coffee! The solution is complete abstinence. As my godly pastor used to wisely say, “You can't take two drinks of beer if you don't take the first!”

With modern medicine and all the over-the-counter products available for allergies, colds, flu, insomnia, et cetera, there is no need for booze. You need to understand that the wine consumed in the Bible and Roman times was naturally fermented. It was so weak (as far as intoxicating someone) that even children were allowed to drink wine. But today it's a whole new ballgame. Modern booze distilleries produce highly concentrated alcoholic beverages that are very dangerous, because it only take a drink or two to become seriously impaired (enough to cause great harm or death to yourself and/or others).

Statistically, most tragic car accidents involving alcohol are caused by drivers who test WITHIN the legal BAC (blood alcohol concentrate) limit of .10 [which means that one-tenth of your blood is alcohol]. When singer Amy Winehouse drank herself to death, toxicology reports showed a BAC of over .40, which literally means that nearly half of her blood was alcohol!!!

The truth is that drunk passengers can be just as dangerous as drunk drivers, which the newsmedia manifests...

Drunk car passengers can be as dangerous as drivers who drink, according to research which suggests that 100,000 accidents a year are caused by drivers' friends.

Inebriated passengers can cause drivers to lose control of their vehicle, swerve or crash, while sometimes the drunks can grapple with the steering wheel or fiddle with the handbrake, the survey suggested.

The poll by insurance company swiftcover.com found as many as 76 per cent of car owners have driven drunken passengers home from parties.

While this is clearly preferable than the over-the-limit person driving, it can have unforeseen consequences.

The survey showed that more than 100,000 accidents and 650,000 near misses a year are caused by drunk passengers

Robin Reames, claims director at swiftcover.com, said: "We're familiar with drink-driving and the dangers it causes at this time of year, but there is a new danger on the road – the drunk passenger.

The reason why alcoholism is such a major problem amongst U.S. youth (including teens and preteens) is because of the deliberate marketing of booze to youth; and largely because their musical heroes who praise, glorify and boast of drunkenness. Case in point is Toby Keith's song, “Get Drunk And Be Somebody!” Or how about Jimmy Buffet and Toby Keith singing, “Too Drunk To Karaoke.” Toby Keith's album is titled, “White Trash With Money,” as if that makes it ok what he is doing. Our precious youth in America have all the wrong heroes. What kind of monstrous mentor is Toby Keith? And then those shameful celebrities give some money to their favorite charity and the newsmedia glorifies them as such wonderful humanitarians, as if that compensates for all the thousands of youth whose lives were completely destroyed by the power of suggestion that compelled them to “GET DRUNK AND BE SOMEBODY!!!”

In this quote from a highly informative and excellent article by the Association For Psychological Science (APS), Dr. Maryanne Garry explains the incredible power of suggestion upon the human mind...

The Power of Suggestion: What We Expect Influences Our Behavior, for Better or Worse

Research Study by Maryanne Garry
June 6, 2012

...In a new article, psychological scientists Maryanne Garry and Robert Michael of Victoria University of Wellington, along with Irving Kirsch of Harvard Medical School and Plymouth University, delve into the phenomenon of suggestion, exploring the intriguing relationship between suggestion, cognition, and behavior. The article is published in the June issue of Current Directions in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science.

Over their research careers, Garry and Kirsch have both studied the effects of suggestion on cognition and behavior. Kirsch focused mostly on suggestion in clinical psychology, while Garry, whose work is supported by the Marsden Fund of New Zealand, was interested in the effects of suggestion on human memory. When the two got to talking, “we realized that the effects of suggestion are wider and often more surprising than many people might otherwise think,” says Garry.

Across many studies, research has shown that deliberate suggestion can influence how people perform on learning and memory tasks, which products they prefer, and how they respond to supplements and medicines, which accounts for the well-known placebo effect.

But what can explain the powerful and pervasive effect that suggestion has in our lives? The answer lies in our ‘response expectancies,’ or the ways in which we anticipate our responses in various situations. These expectancies set us up for automatic responses that actively influence how we get to the outcome we expect. Once we anticipate a specific outcome will occur, our subsequent thoughts and behaviors will actually help to bring that outcome to fruition.

So, if a normally shy person expects that a glass of wine or two will help him loosen up at a cocktail party, he will probably feel less inhibited, approach more people, and get involved in more conversations over the course of the party. Even though he may give credit to the wine, it is clear that his expectations of how the wine would make him feel played a major role.

But it’s not just deliberate suggestion that influences our thoughts and behaviors – suggestions that are not deliberate can have the very same effects.

According to the truthful research you've just read, if our youth expect to be encouraged by a song to drink alcoholic beverages and abuse it by binge drinking and getting drunk, then they are FAR MORE LIKELY TO DO IT!!! This information was not obtained from an obscure blog in cyberspace, but from a highly credibly scientific research institution. There are hundreds of legitimate institutions and psychology websites which will support this research concerning the incredible power of suggestion on the human mind. Our youth are under satanic attack! ...

No wonder many Arab nations call the United States... “THE GREAT SATAN!”

Also, notice at the end of the preceding quote that it's not only deliberate suggestion that influences people's behavior, but also suggestions that are not deliberate. The human mind is amazingly powerful and scientists are still attempting to discover its brilliance capabilities and functions. God's greatness is truly unsearchable, beyond human comprehension. Psalms 145:3, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”

Here is further evidence that intoxicated passengers in a vehicle can be as deadly as drunk drivers...

Charges: Drunk Passenger Caused Crash In St. Paul
December 1, 2011

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — After crashing a car on a Twin Cities Interstate, the driver didn’t face criminal charges but her passenger did.

Mollie Marie Lenzi faces two felony counts of criminal vehicular operation in connection with the April 19 incident. The crash happened at about 2:25 a.m. that day in St. Paul along Interstate 94 near Western Avenue.

Lenzi and her three friends had been out earlier in the night at The Wild Onion Bar in St. Paul. They were celebrating Lenzi’s birthday and planned to get home safely with a designated driver. But police said that plan backfired when Lenzi, from the passenger’s seat, caused a crash.

According to a criminal complaint, the driver, Natalie Mast, said Lenzi “grabbed the steering wheel and turned it, causing the car to veer to the left, and crash into the median wall.”

Mast said Lenzi was “very drunk,” and at the accident scene, Mast gave an alcohol breath test to a result of .025, under the legal limit for driving. Mast broke a few ribs, and Lenzi headed to the hospital.

While talking with Lenzi in the hospital, a state trooper noted her eyes were watery and bloodshot, and her speech was slurred. He also noted she smelled of alcohol.

A blood sample revealed Lenzi’s alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit. The Ramsey County Attorney charged her with causing the crash and injuring her driver.

“The state, regarding DWI, clearly states that a person only needs to be in physical control of a vehicle. In this particular case, that physical control was the passenger grabbing that steering wheel, causing the crash,” said Lt. Eric Roeske with the Minnesota State Patrol. “You only need to be in control for a moment or two to be a danger to you or someone else.”

It happened on an April night that started as a party but took an unexpected turn. Lenzi’s lawyer said the charges are just allegations at this point and wouldn’t comment on them.

I do not judge (condemn) anyone for their faults or sins, for I am a sinner too. The Bible has much to say about the evils of alcohol. Noah went from being the captain of his ship to a drunken sailor, forever damaging the good relationship that he previously had with his son. The first recorded incident of family incest in the Bible between Lot and his daughters involved alcohol. Humanity never learns. Proverbs 20:1 and 17, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. ... Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.”

Jesus Didn't Make Booze!

God hates all forms of beer, whiskey, and booze. Don't allow the Devil to destroy your life by alcohol (Proverb 20:1; Galatians 5:19-21). Please read, GADD (God Against Drunk Drivers). Oh, listen friend, Bud is not weiser, he's a fool. I like what my pastor used to say... “You can't take two drinks of beer if you don't take the first.”
