Numbers 33:52, “Then ye shall
drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you,

pictures, and destroy
all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places.”
Evangelist John R. Rice (1895-1980) was one of
America's greatest men of God and preachers, to whom Americans today owes a
debt of gratitude which cannot be expressed in words . . .

churches that he started, founding the Sword Of The Lord, hundreds of
nationwide tent-meeting revivals, and for preaching 22 years around the
country with Dr. Jack Hyles (1926-2001). Dr. Rice was 31 years older than
Brother Hyles, whom Dr. Hyles admitted was one of his mentors (the 3 R's...
Lester Roloff, Lee Roberson and John Rice). Amen!

Movies: Sex and Violence:
Temptation
“There are the movies. I
remember when I was just a young fellow, movies were not so bad. Nobody taught
me the movies were wrong. The truth is, moral standards then were much better
than they are today. But one day in Wichita Falls, my sister and I and another
young woman went to a movie. In that movie was the story of a girl who fell
into sin and the awful results of it. I got up and walked out of that theatre.
I knew, even as a young Christian, that was wrong.
I didn't decide immediately that
all movies were wrong. But in Southwestern Seminary Dr. L. R. Scarborough put
it up to us about the movies, and I made a solemn resolve then to quit the
Hollywood movies. Later I wrote a book, What Is Wrong With the Movies?
which changed the sentiment among fundamental Christians in America.
There are certain things wrong,
and most movies are generally bad. Nearly always there is playing down the
Christian religion, preachers and fundamental truths of the Bible. So
Hollywood movies are not for good Christians.
You say there are some good
movies. Yes, and there is some good food in the garbage can, but I don't want
to eat out of the garbage. And you ought not get your mind set on anything
that is so colored and tainted as the modern Hollywood movies.
Not only such wicked things as
'Deep Throat'; not only where there is open and explicit adultery and deceit
and such things, but on the same program you will have announcements of great
things coming next week. Nudity, adultery, divorce, violence, murder, crime
are played up. So Christian people have no business putting their influence
and their money back of commercial movies. They lead to the scarlet sin.”

The Holy Bible teaches that God hates the wicked and those who love violence.
Psalms 11:5, “The LORD trieth the righteous: but
the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.” God
doesn't hate them as people, for that would contradict John 3:16, “For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God hates
the evil. God hates the sin. God hates the sexual immorality and violence that
destroys families.
We
read in the Holy Scriptures that the wicked not only commit
evil, but they also enjoy watching others commit the same evil.
You couldn't find a Bible verse more applicable for television
in America, which glorifies the evils of violence, adultery,
gossip, drunkenness, theft, taking the Lord's name in vain,
covetousness, et cetera. Romans 1:32, “Who knowing the
judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy
of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that
do them.”
On
page 17 of his booklet titled, “Adultery and Sex Perversion”
(You may
order this helpful and timeless booklet by Dr. John R. Rice from
the SWORD of the LORD), Dr. Rice further states . . .
Homosexuality, Sin, Sodomy
“I speak today on 'Homosexual
Perversion.' That is a sensitive subject, but it is in the Bible and there
ought to be teaching about it.
First, let me remind you that
all these sex sins are summed up in the one command in Exodus 20:14, 'Thou
shalt not commit adultery.' That term doesn't say 'fornication,' but that is
the same sin. It doesn't name sex perversions, but includes them.
I turn now to read in Leviticus
18:20, 22-24:
'Moreover thou shalt not lie
carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her . . . Thou
shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither
shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any
woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Defile not ye
yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled
which I cast out before you.'
Adultery and homosexual sin and
sin with beasts are all included here.
I turn to the 20th chapter of
Leviticus, verse 10,
'And the man that committeth
adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his
neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to
death.'
And verse 13,
'If a man also lie with mankind,
as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they
shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.'
Sex perversion!
And verses 15 and 16,
'And if a man lie with a beast,
he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. And if a woman
approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and
the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.'
Hear is a clear teaching that
adultery and sex perversion are all involved in the same command of God.
Somebody says, 'Oh, but this
homosexual matter—people are made that way.' No. Everybody is made a sinner.
Everybody has some sex drive. Everybody would like to satisfy it some way,
particularly men. Whether through a woman, or whether it is with a beast, or
whether it is with a man, the truth is, it is all the same sin. God has ways
for men to have control over themselves and do right! You need not call it
sickness; it is wicked sin.
People say drunkenness,
alcoholism, is a disease. Well, it is a disease that is self-induced. People
do it to themselves. And instead of 'alcoholics,' they are just called
drunkards in the Bible, and they go to Hell if they don't get born-again.
In Deuteronomy 23:17 is another
Scripture I ought to read at this time:
'There shall be no whore of the
daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.'
Note this: sodomite—that is the
sin of those men of Sodom, that is homosexual sin, and it is clearly
forbidden, like the sin of the harlot.”

It
is not a mere coincidence that Hollywood chose a “ROARING LION”
for decades to begin their movies. The Holy Bible warns us that
Satan roams about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
DEVOUR. 1st Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Nothing in history has more effectively allowed Satan to devour
families than Hollywood movies!!!
Tragically, even our churches are following the standards of the
world. Fundamental Bible colleges and churches that never would
have permitted female students to wear pants (which is men's
clothing) are now allowing it. Women wearing pants is a part of
America's feminist culture. Abortion is a part of America's
feminist culture, as is divorce and women pursuing careers
instead of motherhood. The problem has become so bad in the U.S.
that women nationwide are freezing their eggs, waiting for Mr.
Right after securing a career.

I've
never heard the sin of homosexuality explained so well as what
you just read. The human sex drive desires to be satisfied,
anyway possible, whether with a man, a woman or an animal. A
normal person desires sexual fulfillment with the opposite sex.
However, when someone's sexual desires become morbid (which the
Bible calls “lasciviousness”), which is caused by unrestrained
lust, anything goes! At that point a man doesn't see another
man, he only sees sexual gratification (and likewise women with
women). When a person is overcome by a perverted mind, they no
longer see any moral taboos, they see an opportunity
for sexual fulfillment. Sexual addiction is dangerous, which is
epidemic in America today because of our sexually perverse
culture.
The inspired Word of God tells us the
solution to sexual temptation. 1st Peter 2:11, “Dearly
beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims,
abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the
soul.” This is what Brother Rice is trying to
warn people about. Movies arouse unholy desires. Immodestly
clothed women provoke men. Movies are saturated with nudity, bed
scenes, women undressing, rape scenes, suggestive content and
strong sensuality. Our American society is wilfully blind to
reality. Feminists want more laws passed to protect their right
to dress and behave in public like prostitutes, so they won't be
ogled, stalked, attacked and raped by ungodly men. That is
absurd! You need to understand that the United States is not
reality. This is fantasy! Only in a sick-minded culture run by
feminists, liberals and homosexuals, do women reign over men.
We've lost our way in America.
Demons cannot make a person sin, but
they do stir sinful passions in the human soul. Movies, music,
magazines, books, videos and other forms of media are all
spiritual mediums (vehicles) through which demons can inspire
the sinful human heart to sin. Proverb 4:23, “Keep thy heart
with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
The backbone of America's abortion
industry is rampant sexual immorality! Tens-of-millions of
unintended and unwanted pregnancies are the result of careless
and reckless sexual behavior. This is true in nearly every case
(not including incest and rape). Was the Holy Bible really all
that bad in our schools?
Our nation is losing its way, no
longer able to recognize right from wrong. Today, sex perverts
are being honored and promoted to great positions of power in
the government. As expected, they want to promote more sex
perverts into positions of power. Consequently, God-fearing
Christians are increasingly being demonized, labeled as bigots,
haters and terrorists by the leftist, liberal and Godless
pro-homosexual media.
Dr. Rice further states concerning the
sin of homosexuality . . .
They Are Perverts
“Such people are not safe as
teachers. I wouldn't want to hire a man as a teacher if he is likely to lead
one of the high school girls into immorality and sin. He is not safe. Such a
teacher is likely to lead the boys into sex perversion. So he is not a good
teacher and he ought not be hired. We have a right to make laws to safeguard
the schools and churches and others from sex perverts. They are not good
citizens. They are not safe.
Now when people are married,
they have children. But sex perverts—men with men and women with women—don't
have children, but they are always out to solicit, to involve somebody else in
sin, to grow up some more homosexuals and sex perverts. And that is wicked.
I thank God for the great
victory in St. Paul-Minneapolis where they had a great referendum and voted to
repeal the law forbidding discrimination against teachers, the homosexuals. It
is going to be repealed in other places. Thank God for that! Christians ought
to take a stand. They ought not give honor and position to those who are
openly known as sex perverts.
I thank God there is mercy for
anybody who is tired of sin. Anybody who is tired of sin can have help and
victory.”

No one can be right with God who hates
sinners. I do not harbor hatred against any living soul. The
Bible tells us in Romans 12:19 that vengeance belongs to God. No
one is going to get away with anything, not even our words
(Matthew 12:36). The same applies to the prevalent wickedness in
American society today, and the world. Homosexuals are quickly
gaining the higher ground in the ongoing battle. God is still on
His throne. Everything's alright in my Father's house. Amen!
Television's immoral influences are
especially destructive on young people. Our concern as
Christians ought to be for our children and the next generation.
Here are some disturbing statistics on children and television
published by the University Of Michigan Health System . . .
What about TV
and aggressive or violent behavior?
Literally thousands of studies since the 1950s have asked
whether there is a link between exposure to media violence and
violent behavior. All but 18 have answered, "Yes." The
evidence from the research is overwhelming. According to the
AAP, "Extensive research evidence indicates that media
violence can contribute to aggressive behavior,
desensitization to violence, nightmares, and fear of being
harmed."

Watching violent shows is also linked with having less empathy
toward others
[14a].
- An average American child will see
200,000 violent acts and 16,000 murders on TV by age 18
[15].
- Two-thirds of all programming
contains violence
[16].
- Programs designed for children more
often contain violence than adult TV
[17].
- Most violent acts go unpunished on TV
and are often accompanied by humor. The consequences of
human suffering and loss are rarely depicted.
- Many shows glamorize violence. TV
often promotes violent acts as a fun and effective way to
get what you want, without consequences
[18].
- Even in G-rated, animated movies and
DVDs, violence is common—often as a way for the good
characters to solve their problems. Every single U.S.
animated feature film produced between 1937 and 1999
contained violence, and the amount of violence with intent
to injure has increased over the years
[19].
- Even "good guys" beating up "bad
guys" gives a message that violence is normal and okay. Many
children will try to be like their
"good guy" heroes in their play.
- Children imitate the violence they
see on TV. Children under age eight cannot tell the
difference between reality and fantasy, making them more
vulnerable to learning from and adopting as reality the
violence they see on TV
[20].
- Repeated exposure to TV violence
makes children less sensitive toward its effects on victims
and the human suffering it causes.
- A University of Michigan researcher
demonstrated that watching violent media can affect
willingness to help others in need

- Viewing TV violence reduces
inhibitions and leads to more aggressive behavior.
- Watching television violence can have
long-term effects:
- A 15-year-long
study by University of Michigan researchers found that
the link between childhood TV-violence viewing and
aggressive and violent behavior persists into adulthood
[21].
- A 17-year-long study found that
teenaged boys who grew up watching more TV each day are
more likely to commit acts of violence than those who
watched less
[22].
- Even having the TV on in the home is
linked to more aggressive behavior in 3-year-olds. This was
regardless of the type of programming and regardless of
whether the child was actually watching the TV
[23].
What parents can
do:
- According to the
American Academy of Pediatrics, media education can help
kids become less susceptible to the bad effects of watching
violent TV. Some studies have shown that kids who received
media education had less violent behavior after watching
violent programs. Teach your kids to be media savvy. Find
out more about
media literacy.
- Watch with your kids, so if the
programming turns violent, you can discuss what happened to
put it in a context you want your kids to learn.
- Know what your kids are watching.
Decide what programs are appropriate for their age and
personality, and stick to your rules.

violent shows, you may want to talk to the parents of your
child's friends and agree to similar rules.

Can you image that, i.e., a child
seeing 200,000 acts of violence and 16,000 murders on TV by age
18??? What kind of world will the next generation be born into
(if they're allowed by insane society to be born at all)? Oh,
how we need born-again Christians to stand today. Fundamental
preachers cannot do it alone. We have the Lord God on our side,
and He promises to heal our land if we'll simply humble
ourselves, pray, seek God's face and turn from our wickedness as
believers (2nd Chronicles 7:14).

You cannot walk with God while running with the world. If
believers would obey 2nd Chronicles 7:14, we would start caring
and get involved. We need to get M.A.D. (Make A Difference)! A
sure sign of a backslidden believer is indifference, complacency
and a lacking sense of urgency concerning spiritual apostasy,
doctrinal error and public immorality. Case in point,

Presbyterians ministers in March of 2015 approved of sex
perverts (same-sex couples) getting married. GET RIGHT WITH
GOD!!!
Hollywood is a cesspool of iniquity.
You cannot watch a theatre movie these days without hearing the
Lord's name horribly blasphemed continually. Sexual perversion
and themes of pedophilia saturate Hollywood (Hollywood is ground
zero for sodomites and pedophiles). Hollywood is all about
filth, dirty movies, rape scenes, nudity, occultism, violence
and homosexuality. Satan is the boss of HollyWEIRD! Brother Rice
went to Heaven in 1980. Today, in 2015, movies are MUCH worse,
containing graphic sexual content, prevalent violence, strong
language and suggestive content. Things will get worse! 2nd
Timothy 3:13, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and
worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
