Requiring Someone “To Turn Away From
Sins” is 'BAD NEWS,' not 'GOOD NEWS'!
I
seem to recall hearing somewhere that the word “Gospel” means “GOOD NEWS!”
Yes, that is exactly what the Holy Bible teaches—the “GOSPEL” means GOOD
NEWS!!! False teachers (who add turning away from sins as a requirement
to be saved) are preaching BAD NEWS! I
assure you that telling a drunkard God won't save him, unless he turns away from his drinking, is not “GOOD NEWS” to his
ears! That would be BAD NEWS! Turning away from sinful ways is NOT a part of
receiving God's free gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
If a young couple is shacking-up in
fornication, and you pressure them (as
Ray Comfort does |
video) to stop living in
sin to get saved, that is very BAD NEWS to them!!! Kindly,
everywhere that
Ray Comfort goes, he spreads BAD NEWS, so no one ever gets saved. I've
never seen Ray lead even one person to the Lord. That is because in his
false plan of salvation, you have to commit to living a certain way, and
then (in his own words from the preceding clip) pursue: “LIVING A LIFESTYLE
THAT PROVES THE REALITY OF YOUR REPENTANCE.” Ray foolishly says, “IT'S A
CONTINUAL THING!” Ray horribly understands this to mean “repentance,” but
this is a gross misinterpretation of theology, and a very false plan of
salvation. Getting saved is “THE GIFT OF GRACE” and “THE GIFT OF
RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Romans 5:15). That is so amazing and wonderful! There
are no obligations in receiving “A GIFT”!
The Gospel is the 'GOOD NEWS' of Christ crucified on the cross,
buried and bodily risen from the
dead three days later for our justification (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). We are
saved by GOD'S IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS!!!
I love Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001), who was always trying to be as
accurate as he could be, admitting when he was wrong doctrinally, who made
the following excellent statement in a sermon defining accurately what it
means to REPENT UNTO LIFE...
“Repentance
is not some little silly, 'I'm sorry.' Repentance is not simply a fear
of God. Repentance is not a monk fasting and afflicting his body in a
monastery. Repentance is not remorse because of sin's consequences.
Repentance is not penance performed before the pope as you kiss his
toe... Repentance is not being sorry for what I've done wrong. It is not
confessing one's sins to a priest. It is not just conviction of sin. It
is not the signing of a pledge of abstinence. Repentance is that thing when you come before God and see yourself as
you are, and see Him as he is, and say with Isaiah 'Woe is me, for I am
unclean!'” [emphasis

Brother Hyles is
absolutely right, that heresy is flooding into our fundamental Baptist
churches by the hour. It is tragic! Many churches are pulling on the same
rope as the Devil without even realizing it. Thank God for the
beautiful
Gospel of free grace!!! Getting saved is easy, free and simple—JUST
BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS!!! Sadly,
very
few people ever see THE TRUTH! That is because Satan blinds the mind
of unbelievers (2nd Corinthians 4:3-4).

Pastor Charles Lawson
of the Temple Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee said, shamefully criticizing Pastor Hyles (without mentioning
his name directly), for using the Romans Road plan of salvation...
“The Bible colleges around the
country will stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ, and give an account
for removing repentance from salvation and conversion. How can you be
saved if you're not willing to repent. Salvation is
not believing a bunch of stuff about Christ. You can
change your mind what you believe about Him. And where you said before,
'I don't believe all this,' now you say, 'I believe all this.' Does that
make you born again? 'For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness.'
But you see, you can get a lot of
people into church with easy-believism... “1-2-3 believe after me!” You
prayed the sinner's prayer. You can fill up the congregation, and then
you can go brag to the brethren about what a great job God's doing
through you. Of course all that 'great job what God's doing through you'
is meaningless. What they really mean to say is: 'Look how wonderful I

Respectfully, Pastor Charles Lawson speaks as a foolish
man. What saith the Scripture? John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto
you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting
life.” Salvation is simply BELIEVING ON CHRIST! Although it is true that
praying a
prayer is not the way of salvation, it is very true that a person CAN
BE saved by simply BELIEVING THE GOSPEL! The only way to be saved is by
EASY-BELIEVISM! Beware of anyone who tells you that it is
HARD TO BE SAVED (as Dr. John MacArthur does)! Getting saved is simple
and easy!
Here are some excellent, doctrinally sound,
helpful, biblical sermons about the simplicity of the Gospel . . .
1st Timothy 2:5, “For there is one
God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” The
matter of salvation is strictly between you and the one Mediator, Jesus
Christ! John 11:25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the
life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
Getting saved is not a matter of you forsaking the sins in your life. What
saith the Scripture? Revelation 1:5b, “Unto him that loved us, and washed
us from our sins in his own blood.” Jesus Christ bore the full weight of
our sins on the cross, paying for them with His precious shed blood. Our
only part in salvation is to GET OUT OF THE WAY, and submit to God's
righteousness through faith in the finished work of Christ. Romans
10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted
themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law
for righteousness to every one that believeth.”

Most young people are utterly disgusted with churches
today, and I
cannot blame them one bit!!! Bob Jones University (BJU) at one time was
considered the citadel of fundamentalism in America, but that was before
hundreds of Bible versions were published and they cowardly went along with
the Devil's New World Order! When BJU opened their doors in 1927, they only
used the inspired King James Bible! That's the only Bible that they used!!!
Now they sell numerous versions of the Devil's Alexandrian fakes! Very few

Why are humans so gullible? Why are
today's preachers so shallow, cowards and gutless? Why do they go along with
Satan's corruptible seed? Of course, they all have their lame excuses for
their lukewarm style of apostate Christendom. The first step to learning the
truth is to humbly admit you are ignorant. The first step to coming to
Christ for salvation is to humbly admit you are a hopeless sinner. Sinful
pride is what hinders people from accepting the truth of THE GOSPEL to be
saved. Bob Jones University today epitomizes arrogance and hubris, and it
wreaks of stench! BJU is no longer a fundamentalist institution! They only
care about their next paycheck, which is the only reward from God they'll
ever receive. A sure sign of apostasy (and proof that someone is serving
mammon instead of God) is when they become INDIFFERENT toward truth.
Judgment Day is coming for all believers at The Judgment Seat Of Christ, and
I am so glad that I am on the side of truth and righteousness, not error and
religious snobbery! Psalms 25:10, “All the paths of
the LORD are mercy and truth unto
such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.”

Jesus Christ Alone is the Mediator of
Our Salvation
Salvation
is solely a matter of ceasing from our own works, and resting wholly in the
'GOOD NEWS' of Jesus Christ! Many false
prophets today (including Charles Lawson and Ray Comfort, which I just
showed you) are teaching falsely that you must turn away from the sins in
your life to be saved, but those are the very DEAD WORKS (Hebrews 6:1) which
God demands we cease from to be saved. Turning from sins effectively
means keeping the LAW to be saved. It cannot be done! Who can turn from all
their sins? That's right, NO ONE!
Perhaps you'd like to hear the wonderful
sermon titled: “IF
THOU SHOULD MARK INIQUITIES, WHO COULD STAND?” (awesome MP3 sermon by
Dr. Jack Hyles). I tell you lovingly dear reader that you and I are dirty,
filthy, rotten, undeserving, sinners! We all deserve to burn in the
tormentuous smoke and fires of Hell for eternity. But the 'GOOD NEWS' is
that Jesus never sinned one time, and He went to the cross as the perfect
sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Jesus became “A RANSOM FOR ALL” (1st
Timothy 2:6). The only begotten Son of God is the precious slain LAMB OF
GOD! Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not
pay. 2nd Corinthians 5:21, “For he [God the father] hath made him
[God the Son] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him [God the Son].”
We are living in some hard times which call
for some hard preaching! God pity the pantywaist coward for a minister who
rarely, if ever, rips and scathes against the awfulness of sin with blistering
words. You'll have to search long and far to find a faithful preacher
nowadays, who
fulfils the following commandments from God...
2nd Timothy “Preach the
word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure
afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

Sunday seemed to have
recovered some of the prophet's lost art of denunciation. He dared call sin
by its proper name. He excoriated the hypocrite. He cared not for feelings
of the unfaithful preacher or of the double-living church member. As for the
Devil and all his lieutenants, Sunday had for them a sizzling,
blistering vocabulary
that helped men to loathe sin. His uncompromising attitude is shown by this
culled from one of his sermons: “They say to me, 'Bill, you rub the fur the
wrong way.' I don't; let the cats turn 'round.”

Bless God, I hope my preaching against sin
harelips every dog in the county! Like Billy Sunday and Jack Hyles, the
wicked have come out against me with their accusations, distortions,
slanders and lies, a cutthroat gang of thugs, because I have come out
uncompromisingly against sin and evil—everything from abortion, same-sex
marriage, Christian Rock music from Hell, booze, Judaism, divorce, Zionism,
adultery, Hollywood, Federal Reserve banking fraud, Las Vegas casino
gambling, sensual dancing, IRS stealing from citizens, the demonic New World
Order and every woeful evil you you can think of!!! So be it, if the shoe
fits, WEAR IT! I have a couple dozen pairs of shoes that I don't like to
wear either, but they fit!

As believers, we all need to repent and get right with God on a
regular basis!!! No one has ever stayed right with God their entire
Christian life. NO ONE! If you're a human being, and I don't care who you
are, you're either struggling continually to live right for God (Romans
7:14-25), or you're not even trying and have chosen to live in intentional
sin. Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up
again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Even the best
Christians stumble, choosing to go into sin at times. Although some men can
live above reproach if they're fortune, no man can live above committing
sin. 1st Timothy 5:24: “Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before
to judgment; and some men they follow after.” Ah, but God is full of
mercy, willing to abundantly pardon, and promises if we seek His forgiveness
to separate our sins as far as the east is from the west (those two
directions never meet). Psalms 103:12, “As far as the east is from the
west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
I speak of the practical righteousness which every
Christian believer ought to have. When we are saved,
God's imputed
righteousness cleanses all our sins away forever, and we are forever safe in the
Lord Jesus Christ from the risk of ever losing God's salvation or going to
Hell. However, as God's child we will still struggle with sin on a continual
basis, displeasing the Lord at times. When we sin as a born-again believer,
we are judged as God's child (2nd Corinthians 5:9-11). and not as the
condemned world. 1st Corinthians 11:32, “But when we are judged, we are
chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.” No Christian has God's permission to sin (Romans 3:31), but no amount of
intentional or unintentional sin can ever jeopardize the free gift of
eternal life, through faith in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ
crucified, buried and risen. 1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe
that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will
God bring with him.”
