(Or, the priest cannot
absolve your sins!)

1st Timothy 2:3-6, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
No priest or minister can absolve or forgive your sins. One of
the saddest things I've ever heard was
Catholic Priest John Corapi (I'll never call him “Father” as
foolish Catholics do) claiming that he absolved his own father's
sins before he died. If that be true, John's father is in Hell,
having died in his sins. I say this kindly, but honestly, to
warn others. The Word of God plainly teaches in 1st Timothy 2:5
that there is “ONLY ONE MEDIATOR” between God the Father and
men, and that is the man Christ Jesus!!! This is true because
only Jesus has the nail-scared hands and feet. Only Jesus wore
the thorn of crowns for our sins. Only Jesus has the
spear-pierced side. Only Jesus was crucified for our sins. And
only Jesus was capable of being the sacrifice for mankind's
sins, as the sinless Lamb of God, without any spot nor blemish.
Catholics have been foolishly and errantly taught that in order to go to Heaven, they must call for their priest at the time of death, asking for the sacrament of Last Rites. Last Rites are of the Devil, yet millions of people every day around the world call some heathen Catholic priest or Lutheran minister, who are saturated with sins themselves, to absolve their sins, or a loved one's sins. Friend, you need to call upon the name of Jesus by faith, believing the Gospel, so you can become born-again by the Holy Spirit of God!!! Christ died on the cross for your sins, not the Catholic priest. Jesus was buried and bodily resurrected from the dead the third day, not the Lutheran minister. Only Jesus has the scared hands, face, brow, side and feet!!!
Last Rights (also known as Extreme Unction) is of the Devil. If you're on your death bed, you need to believe the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is no other way to be saved. Please don't let some priest or minister give you a false hope, by offering you a substitute for the Gospel. Religion will send you to Hell, you need the Gospel as taught in the Word of God. Man in his arrogance always tries to ADD works to grace, but the Bible says that we are saved by God's grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).
All men are sinners! (Romans 3:10-19). No human being, other than the GOD-MAN Jesus Christ, has ever been able to forgive anyone's sins. Only God can forgive sin, on His terms. God's term are that we come for forgiveness on the basis of the cross of Calvary, the cross upon which the only begotten Son of God was crucified, bled and died for our sins. Ah, but Jesus didn't stay dead. He raised up from the dead, exiting the tomb on the third day, bodily seen by several hundred witnesses (1st Corinthians 15:6). The Lord bodily ascended into Heaven, Who is now interceding (Romans 8:34) for every believer on the right-hand of God the Father (Colossians 3:1-2) as our heavenly High Priest (Hebrews 4:15-16). When He ascended, Jesus' sprinkled His literal, liquid, blood (Hebrews 12:24) upon the Mercy Seat (Hebrews 9:12) on our behalf in the presence of the Father (Hebrews 9:24). It is the blood of the Lamb that washes away our sins (1st John 1:7; Revelation 1:5; Revelation 7:14). Note: All Scripture references are ONLY to the trustworthy King James Bible.
It is tragic that the popularity and demand for Last Rites is so widespread today that there is a scarcity of priests to perform it. I thank God for a scarcity of priests, I wish there were none!!! It is tragic that over one billion Roman Catholics worldwide, and 150,000,000 more Russian Orthodox Catholics, have all been brainwashed to put their faith in the arms of sinful men instead of the arms of our holy God. Psalms 118:8, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” END
