Man says, “Hell is on this earth”
By David J. Stewart
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” —Matthew 25:41
I recently had a conversation with a gentleman in which he mentioned the problems of this world and how people are so hateful. He repeatedly spoke of the “Big Guy” upstairs [God] and of the importance of having love towards his fellow mankind. At first he seemed to be a Christian, since he spoke of God and love.
However, he then spoke of his Karma increasing when he did good and also of reincarnation. He spoke of his spirit returning to the earth one day. He said that love is the only thing that matters in this world, and then he blamed religion for spreading hate and bigotry throughout the world. At that point I realized that he was a confused man, holding to a mixture of heresies ranging from Buddhism to New Age.
I then began to witness to him. I explained to him that sin was the culprit behind all of the world's problems, to which he agreed. But when I said that Jesus died for our sins so we wouldn't have to go to Hell, he quickly blurted out... “Hell is on this earth!” Despite my efforts to win him to the Lord, he refused to believe that a God of love would send anyone to a place called “Hell” to be punished in fire and brimstone. Frankly, he doesn't believe the Bible.
The unsaved man I spoke with is typical of the masses of society today, who sincerely believe that the world would be much better off if it weren't for religion. He often spoke of religious hypocrites who judge and condemn, when they ought to be teaching men to love one another.
The problem is that people want goodness without morality, eternal life without a Savior, truth without God's Word, conviction without absolute principles; but it cannot be done. To speak of having love without truth is like relishing in a new car without any gasoline to operate it. The world is filled with superficial people, who sing and talk as if life is so grand; yet they are living in sin and hellbound for the bottomless pit. They have never acknowledged their GUILT of sin (Romans 3:19). They have never repented and turned to Jesus Christ to be forgiven and saved.
Oh, listen my friend, Hell is NOT on this earth! Although the world is a miserable place of suffering and woe for billions of people, it is a playground of pleasure compared to the Hell that burns with FIRE AND BRIMSTONE... “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
It comes down to whether or not one believes that the King James Bible is God's Word...
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Are you willing to risk your eternal destiny on the assumption that Hell is only here on earth? Do you have any idea how the Bible came into man's possession? It was written by 40 different men, from various nations and backgrounds, speaking different languages, over a time-span of 1,500 years. Yet, remarkably, it all harmonizes together to give us a complete picture of God's divine plan for the human race.
As evidence of this phenomena, one need look no further than the thousands of manuscripts of the Bible which archeologists have unearthed throughout the world, particularly around the Holy Land. How could one group of men write such a masterpiece and manage to bury it's contents, hidden within the earth at various locations for centuries, and then be discovered randomly throughout the Middle East and beyond? The Bible is of God, given to mankind as a Lamp unto our feet to guide us to salvation and forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ.
Biblical Hell is Not On This Earth
If God is willing to allow suffering here on earth, then don't make the foolish assumption of thinking that there won't be suffering in the next world. God is bound by His Word to punish evildoers. 2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9 ought to scare every Christ-rejecter... “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” Did you read that? God is going to punish all Christ-rejecters with a VENGEANCE, and He's going to use fire and brimstone to do it. Only a fool would dare ignore such clear and stern warning from the Word of God.
If you die in your sins, you will burn in Hell forever, specifically in the Lake of Fire (Greek: Gehenna)... “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM he, ye shall die in your sins.” Jesus is the I AM of Exodus 3:14... “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” hence, Jesus is Almighty God (Revelation 1:8), the Godhead incarnate (1st Timothy 3:16) that came to earth to die for our sins... “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
Jesus was far more than a man, prophet, and king; He was Almighty God in the flesh... “The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.” Jesus was God, and is sitting on the right hand of the Father in Heaven now as God. The Bible calls this the “mystery of God” (Colossians 2:2); but it is Scriptural. The trustworthy King James Bible mentions the word GODHEAD 3-times (Romans 1:20; Acts 17:29; Colossians 2:9), which is why I hate all the modern corrupt bibles which remove the word completely.
Please don't go to Hell. This world is NOT Biblical Hell, although it may often be a place of hell. This is not Hell in the Biblical sense. The Scriptures NEVER refer to this earth, nor to all of life's miseries and pain, as hell. If you want a glimpse of Biblical Hell, then you must be on a battlefield, being burned alive with napalm (i.e., gasoline jelled with aluminum soaps; highly incendiary liquid used in fire bombs and flame throwers), hearing the screams and cries of other helpless men burning in flames, and your own futile desperate screams for help, and none of you can receive any medical help or relief. That's just a glimpse of what awaits the wicked in the eternity. The Bible calls it “The Second Death” (Revelation 21:8).
Most people today scoff at the notion of a place called Hell, categorizing it as a myth having origins in many different cultures. However, what about the Bible? You can't just ignore God's Word. No human being could have written the Bible, and even if they were capable without God's help, they certainly wouldn't have. The Bible is offensive, cutting to the heart, which is just how God intended it to be...
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
If you go to Hell, you will have no one to blame except your sinful and foolish self.
“And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” —John 5:40
“They Have No Rest Day Nor Night”
Revelation 14:11, “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
Psalms 50:22,
“Now consider this, ye that forget God,
lest I tear you in
pieces, and there be none to deliver.”
