"For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." —Romans 10:3-4
It may seem like a trifle thing to many people how religions fuss, debate
and fight against each other. If that is your experience with religion, then
may I recommend as a friend that you stop looking at religion and start
searching the holy Bible, which is God's inspired Word. Religion is the
worst thing that ever happened to this world. In the Old Testament there was
the God of Israel, His law showing men their sins and the sprinkled blood of
the slain Passover Lamb which atoned for their sins; and then there were all
the false religions of the heathen nations. It's still the same today.
Many times in the Old Testament, even the Jews forsook God and went into idolatry, which is what false religion essentially is. If you deny Christ's deity (i.e., that Jesus is almighty God), then you are effectively an atheist, denying God.
Our text verse from Romans 10:3-4 is so important. The Bible exposes false religions, false Christians and false prophets who go about to establish THEIR OWN self-righteousness, instead of submitting to God's righteousness.
We are saved by ceasing from our own “dead works” (that includes good and bad works) and resting completely in Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:8-11, “For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” How do you enter into God's rest? It is very simple—you submit to God's righteousness, through faith in Jesus Christ alone! Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” Do you have God's imputed righteousness dear friend? It is free, simple and easy—just BELIEVE the GOOD NEWS!
