It's Ok Not To Know What To Pray, Just Pray!
by David J. Stewart | July 2015
Romans 8:26, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
God is so wonderful! He has made it so easy for us to pray. The Holy Bible plainly teaches that no Christian knows what they ought to pray for. The reason is obvious, that is, we cannot see the big picture as God can. We cannot see into the hearts of other people for whom we pray. We have very limited knowledge and understanding of the workings of God. Deuteronomy 29:29, “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” We can; however, understand that which God has revealed to us in the Holy Scriptures. Albeit, there are many things that we will never understand, and all we can do is trust God's wisdom, goodness and holiness by faith. The Lord doesn't expect us to know or understand everything, but He does ask us to trust Him (Proverbs 3:5-7). Amen.
I often think of Romans 8:26 when I go to pray, when I find my self saying, “Lord I have no idea what to pray in this matter” or “I just pray for your will to be done Lord, because I don't really know what to pray.” It's ok to pray like that. God can figure it out. The Lord knows the deepest thoughts of our heart, and our true intentions (Proverbs 24:12; Hebrews 4:13). Romans 8:26 teaches that the Holy Spirit MAKETH INTERCESSION on our behalf. That is so beautiful! When we talk to God and don't know what to pray, He fills in the blanks and helps us. What an awesome God!!! Nothing can be hid from the eyes of God. Proverbs 15:3, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” I love that... AND THE GOOD!!! God sees the good that we do also.
If you are ever so distraught that you cannot even find the words to pray, and your prayers are more resemblant of grunts and moaning of pain than prayer, the Lord knows what your heart is trying to tell Him, even though you are struggling to find the words to say it. God sees and knows all! We have a good God. I feel sorry for agnostic people. These are folks who aren't sure if God exists. May I quote Jesus' words to you from Luke 24:25, “Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.” The sooner that you acknowledge the need for God's Word in your life, the better off you'll be. We ought not just read the Bible, but abide in it. We ought to mediate about what we read from the Bible night and day. Psalms 1:2, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” If you don't like to read the Holy Bible, then good night my friend, Listen to It!!! Amen! There's more than one way to skin a chicken.
Truly, in Heaven at the Judgment Seat of Christ, countless Christians are going to weep when they discover all the of the abundant blessings of God that they forfeited, simply because they failed to pray without ceasing. 1st Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.” This Scripture means to speak to God all throughout the day, as we abide in Him continually. The Christian life is not just a Sunday experience, and then for the rest of the week we forget about the things of God. That my friend is a religious experience, not the Christian life. You're never wasting your time when you pray. Prayer works, one way or another, prayer works!
Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” 2nd Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Prayer is strictly a matter of faith. If we don't pray and live in our Bible, we are telling God that we can make it on our own and don't need His help. I desperately need and want God's help. I must have His help. The Lord taught in Matthew 4:4 that men cannot live by physical food alone, but that we also need spiritual food. This is why Satan is poisoning all the new Bible versions, so that people will not be fed properly, spiritually poisoned and sick. Our churches are very sick today!
Satanic U.S. Presidential Prayer Breakfast - False Prayer
When people hypocritically gather together at The White House for a prayer breakfast, the so-called prayers are prewritten by a speechwriter. There is no sincerity, no genuine plea for a sovereign omnipotent God to intervene on America's behalf. It's just a big show, going through the motions, exploiting the things of God for their own personal evil agendas. Here's a classic example of what I'm talking about from February of 2015 at a presidential prayer breakfast. This transcript is from The White House. ...
The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
February 05, 2015
Remarks by the President at National Prayer Breakfast...Whatever our beliefs, whatever our traditions, we must seek to be instruments of peace, and bringing light where there is darkness, and sowing love where there is hatred. And this is the loving message of His Holiness, Pope Francis. And like so many people around the world, I’ve been touched by his call to relieve suffering, and to show justice and mercy and compassion to the most vulnerable; to walk with The Lord and ask “Who am I to judge?” He challenges us to press on in what he calls our “march of living hope.” And like millions of Americans, I am very much looking forward to welcoming Pope Francis to the United States later this year. (Applause.)
His Holiness expresses that basic law: Treat thy neighbor as yourself. The Dalai Lama -- anybody who’s had an opportunity to be with him senses that same spirit. Kent Brantly expresses that same spirit. Kent was with Samaritan’s Purse, treating Ebola patients in Liberia, when he contracted the virus himself. And with world-class medical care and a deep reliance on faith -- with God’s help, Kent survived. (Applause.)
And then by donating his plasma, he helped others survive as well. And he continues to advocate for a global response in West Africa, reminding us that “our efforts needs to be on loving the people there.” And I could not have been prouder to welcome Kent and his wonderful wife Amber to the Oval Office. We are blessed to have him here today -- because he reminds us of what it means to really “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Not just words, but deeds.
Each of us has a role in fulfilling our common, greater purpose -- not merely to seek high position, but to plumb greater depths so that we may find the strength to love more fully. And this is perhaps our greatest challenge -- to see our own reflection in each other; to be our brother’s keepers and sister’s keepers, and to keep faith with one another. As children of God, let’s make that our work, together.
As children of God, let’s work to end injustice -- injustice of poverty and hunger. No one should ever suffer from such want amidst such plenty. As children of God, let’s work to eliminate the scourge of homelessness, because, as Sister Mary says, “None of us are home until all of us are home.” None of us are home until all of us are home.
As children of God, let’s stand up for the dignity and value of every woman, and man, and child, because we are all equal in His eyes, and work to send the scourge and the sin of modern-day slavery and human trafficking, and “set the oppressed free.” (Applause.)SOURCE: https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/02/05/remarks-president-national-prayer-breakfast
There is so much bullcrap in the President's speech that it nauseates me. Mr. Obama calls everyone the “children of God, ”which is not true. Obama didn't even write the speech, but since he spoke it, his name is all over it. He refers to the Dalai Lama and the Catholic Pope as “His Holiness.”
Let me show you how “holy” the Roman Catholic Pope really is: To Justify Pervert Priests, Pope Benedict Declared Pedophilia Was 'Normal' Back In 1970's! What kind of holy man says that raping children by sodomizing them in the anus is “normal”? That's the Catholic Church then and still today!!!
And let me show you how “holy” the Dalai Lama really is: Buddhist Dalai Lama Devil Infatuated With Psycho-Killer Mao Zedong (says, Mao “like a father”). Mao mercilessly murdered upwards of 60,000,000 Chinese people. Yet, the Dalai Lama idolizes this wicked and shameful man as some kind of hero. My friend, the Dalai Lama and the Catholic pope are two devil's, and so is Barack Obama!!! They are all wolves in sheep's clothing! Lucifer is their god.
President Obama talked about world peace in his prayer breakfast speech. What liars! We've been hearing about world peace for the past 100 years, and yet all we see are more bloodthirsty wars! War is very profitable for the international banking barons. World War I cost 20,000,000 men their lives. It was duped “The War To End All Wars,” but it was all a big lie. World War II cost another 50,000,000 men their lives. WWI was just the beginning of the bloodshed!!! You just wait until World War III, when hundreds of millions will die, if not billions. I believe WWIII will lead into the Tribulation period, in which the Bible says more than half the population will be killed. That means several billion people will be killed.
Obama also mentioned Sister Mary and said as children of God we should all work to end the scourge of homelessness. Homelessness is at an all time high in America, and with the recent treasonous Trans-Pacific Partnership bill that was passed, American wages will decline further, with more joblessness, more deindustrialization (relocating U.S. manufacturing jobs to foreign soil), and increased homelessness. What fraud!!! If you haven't learned it already, President Obama is a paid professional liar of liars, second only to Satan himself (John 8:44). Search online and you'll find lists of literally hundreds of broken promises and outright lies told by Mr. Obama since he took office as U.S. President in 2009. You can tell when the President is lying when his lips move! What shame!
The President's prayer speech is nothing but carefully crafted rhetoric to appease the Devil's crowd, unite false religions, and continue the charade of global peace and humanitarianism. What a pathetic speech! Mr. Obama talked about the dignity of every child. Huh? Americans still murder over 1,000,000 human beings each year in murderous abortion clinics nationwide. What bull! Obama says he wants to end child-trafficking. Well then you had better shut down Child Protection Services nationwide! The CIA murdered Senator Nancy Schafer for exposing CPS for the child-abduction racket they have become. President Obama, like nearly all politicians these days, make nothing but empty promises. Senator Rand Paul isn't as bad, but his Presidential candidacy speech that I heard might as well have been a poor child's Christmas list living in Africa. These folks are all out of touch with reality.
Prayer is not a game. It's not a chant. It's not a means of swaying public opinion. It's not a chore or a tool to deceive people. The President isn't praying to God by reading a speech prepared for him. Also, God would never honor any speech that recognizes the Satanic Dalai Lama and Catholic Dope as men of God. What wickedness!!! Jesus told the Samaritan woman in John 4:24 that God can only be worshipped in truth and spirit. Mr. Obama is woefully ignorant of the truth. Obama's prayer speech intentionally includes praises of many Satanic religions and false prophets, which is the nature of the New World Order. Satan needs to unite the world economically, religiously, politically and in every way possible, so that when the Antichrist appears, he will be accepted by the heathen world.

Without The Holy Spirit We Can Achieve Nothing For God
HOW THEY PRAYED
George Whitefield, the famous English evangelist, said, “O Lord give me souls, or take my soul!”
Henry Martyn, a missionary, cried as he knelt on India's coral strands, “Here let me burn out for God!”
David Brainerd, missionary to the North American Indians 1718-1747, declared, “Lord, to Thee I dedicate myself. Oh, accept of me, and let me be Thine forever. Lord, I desire nothing else; I desire nothing more.” The last words in his diary, written seven days before he died, “Oh, come, Lord Jesus, come quickly. Amen.”
Thomas a Kempis, 1379-1471, said, “Give what Thou wilt and how much Thou wilt, and when Thou wilt. Set me where Thou wilt and deal with me in things as Thou wilt.”
Dwight L. Moody implored, “Use me then, My Saviour, for whatever purpose and in whatever way Thou mayest require. Here is my poor heart, an empty vessel; fill it with Thy grace.”
John McKenzie prayed thus when as a young missionary candidate he knelt on the banks of the Lossie: “O Lord, send me to the darkest spot on earth!”
“Praying Hyde,” a missionary in India, pleaded, “Father, give me these souls, or I die.”
Mrs. Comstock, a missionary in India, uttered this prayer of parting when she sent her children home, “Lord Jesus, I do this for Thee.”
There can be no true revival in the churches until there is prevailing prayer, powerful preaching and personal purging of sins. Prayerless churches are powerless churches. If there is no prayer, then there is pride and manmade machinery. This is why the faithful man of God R.A. Torrey (1856-1928) said, “We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.” I have been in Baptist churches where not one time in a year did I hear mention of the Holy Spirit, neither from the pulpit nor in public prayer.
My friend, it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit of God that anything can be accomplished for God. There is much being accomplished in the churches today for the New World Order, for the fatcat preachers, and for the pleasure-seeking congregations; but there is no soul-winning, the pulpit is dry and dead, the church alters are empty at invitation time, and the church is fortunate if they water baptize two converts every 6-months! The church today has lost her authority!!! Please listen to the MP3 titled, “Running Short On Authority” by Brother Lester Roloff. Without the preaching that produces repentance, of course the alters are going to be empty each week.
This is important, so listen up. If you are a born-again Christian, you should get into the habit of continually praying for the power of the Holy Spirit in all that you do for God. Whether you sing in your church, teach a Sunday School class, help missionaries, serve in your church, or go soul-winning, you should daily pray for God's Holy Spirit to work through you. Zechariah 4:6, “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Every time I pray for this (my) ministry entrusted to me by the Lord, without fail I tell the Lord that I know without His Holy Spirit all is in vain. I remind God that I am fully aware I cannot change anybody's life. I am just a clump of clay with a website. God created man from the dirt of the earth (Genesis 2:7).
If you are not careful, it is easy to let prayer become a ritual instead of seeking the Holy Spirit's power. False religions worldwide pray as a form of devotion, thinking they'll be heard for their much speaking (Matthew 6:8). Prayer is getting God involved! Prayer is letting God know, that we know, that we need Him. James 4:6 teaches that God resists the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. I've often heard secular talk shows and know-it-all professionals talk about prayer as a good therapy. That is tragic! My friend, prayer is coming before the throne of God by faith and asking Him for something. I learned recently that the acronym formed by Ask, Seek and Knock is A.S.K. Pretty neat, huh? Prayer is asking! Philippians 4:6 teaches to make our requests known unto God; then verse 7 says to claim the perfect peace of God that passeth all understanding.
In other words, once you've prayed about a matter, you can rest assure that you have done your part spiritually and God is on the job. Regardless of what happens, the Lord can never say that you didn't pray and ask for His help. That gives me great peace about every matter in my life, just knowing that I placed the matter into God's hands through prayer. You don't have to ever wonder if you prayed enough for God to answer. God doesn't work that way. All He asks in Matthew 6:7-8 is that we pray, even if it is just for a few moments. Importunity (persistence) in prayer is always for others, which is how we earn rewards in Heaven (Matthew 6:1-20; Luke 11:5-10). The Bible teaches in Matthew 6:7-8 that God knows beforehand what our needs are. The Lord just wants us to know that we need Him. Prayer is humility, drawing near to God, trusting upon Him to help us in all the areas of life that are beyond our reach, understanding and control.
Prayer Works Because God Is Real And Reachable
Prayer is not the superstitious burning of candles, bowing to shrines, chanting in groups, or bizarre rituals as seen in Muslim circles. Prayer is communicating by faith with the only true and living God, our Maker and Savior, Jesus Christ. Those who reject Jesus as the Messiah have no clue of what true prayer is, because they are praying in vain to a mythical god; such as (Allah) who doesn't exist, or the female false Judaism god of Shakira. The Holy Bible teaches that NO MAN can come to God the Father, but by Jesus Christ (John 14:6). The reprobate world commonly believes sincerity is all that matters, and that all roads lead to the light. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible warns that Satan is an actor, and all his ministers are also actors, fooling the world (2nd Corinthians 11:13-15). Jesus said that He was the light of the world while He walked the earth, but now Christians are the light in His absence. John 9:5, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
To not pray is sinful pride. This is why we read in 2nd Chronicles 7:14 that the first step to national healing is to HUMBLE OURSELVES, and then prayer naturally follows. When we humble ourselves and pray, then everything else in the Christian life follows. Christians don't go soul-winning because they do not pray as they should. Jesus told His disciples to “pray, lest ye enter into temptation” (Luke 22:46). Prayer is one of the keys to the Christian life (Philippians 4:6-7). Abiding in the Scriptures is another (John 15:1-7). Most believers don't pray anymore, because they are so enamored with television, texting, the internet, sports and all the entertainment options available today. Most believers only pray when they are scared, in trouble or desperate. Prayer is completely a matter of faith, believing that God exists and that He is able and willing to answer our prayers. The important thing is not what we pray, but that we just pray. Pray, pray, pray! If you don't feel like praying, tell that to God and ask Him to tender your heart.
Developing A Caring Heart Behind Our Prayers
Many people have a difficult time crying for others. That's because most people spend all their time watching television, seeing perversion and murders galore. It's hard to feel compassion for others when you see an abundant lack of compassion for others on TV. If you'll turn off the TV and spend time thinking about others, putting yourself in their shoes, God will break your heart for them over time. The way to develop a soft heart is to invest your time, money and prayer in others. I work night and day through my online ministry to reach others for the Lord. I pray daily for my web visitors, and for my labors, asking God to guide me. I am only a sinful man, incapable of changing anyone's life on my own.
Ah, but God's Holy Spirit does the changing, working through His Word. The Holy Spirit NEVER works apart from the written Word of God. You know a spirit is not of God if the Holy Scriptures are not mentioned. Any spirit that is not the Holy Spirit is a familiar (demonic) spirit. We hear a lot about spirits from the world, and the spirit world, but they are speaking about demons. The Holy Bible teaches that Christians are at war in an unseen spiritual world (Ephesians 6:12-18). There is a war on for your soul!!! Prayer is one of the spiritual weapons mentioned in Ephesians 6:18.
Many Christians are guilty of resorting to the use of slander, gossip, backbiting and accusing as weapons to hurt other, but none of these are mentioned in the believer's spiritual armour in Ephesians 6:12-18. That is because these things are SIN. Prayer is a weapon, but accusing others is a sin. The Fighting Fundamentalist Forum online is nothing but a gossip center for self-righteous hypocrites, fighting amongst each other, revealing secrets and shamefully hurting one another. That is heathendom, not of the Lord. The most damaging gossip and tale-bearing is committed with seemingly good intentions. Much damaging gossip is spread by evildoers during church prayer meetings. One of the evidences of a Spirit-filled Christian is hating and shunning sin, not gossiping and spreading manure about struggling or fallen believers.
It is the job of the church pastor to train his people how to treat each other. Churchgoers need to continually be taught to unconditionally love one another, and not listen to gossip, and not to repeat any gossip that they've heard, and to pray often for each other. Believers who don't pray criticize, and believers who criticize don't pray. Our churches are saturated with hatred, gossip, self-righteous hypocrisy and malicious slander. Jesus said that we are the light of the world as Christians. I love what Dr. Bob Gray Sr. said recently, “It is never right to accept the sin with the sinner, nor is it right to reject the sinner with the sin.”
Our churches today lack both compassion for sinners and conviction over sin. We are in a mess in America. Please send missionaries to America from other countries, we need your help! We are a decadent and wicked society which has forsaken God, morals and decency. We murder our children, marry our homosexuals, indoctrinate our children with the Satanic lies of evolution, and allow our streets to be filled with drunken drivers. Please send Gospel missionaries right away!!!
If you'll spend time thinking about others, God will break your heart toward them. Think about their problems, their burdens and their life. Pray for them. Love them. Look for ways to help them. When I have negative thoughts arise toward others, I immediately pray for them, for God's will to be done in their life, whether good or bad. Sometimes bad things have to happen for people to get right with God. Or perhaps good things will lead to their repentance. It depends on the individual person. Since only God knows their heart, I always leave it in the Lord's hands and never tell Him what to do. I just pray and trust His wisdom and omniscience.
Important Lessons On Prayer
The need for praying Christians has never been greater. I don't claim to understand it all, but I do know from the Scriptures that God doesn't work unless believer's pray. The Church didn't pray until James was beheaded, then they prayed for Peter and he was delivered in Acts 12:1-15. There is an amazing truth in this passage. God delivered the apostle Peter from prison. God had answered the prayers of the saints. When Peter came to the door of the home where the saints were praying, Rhoda came to the door. She was so excited to see Peter that she shut the door and ran to tell the others, leaving Peter outside. They were in disbelief that God had actually answered their prayer. They were praying for something that they didn't really believe would happen. Acts12:15, “And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.” They called Rhoda crazy! The lesson to be learned here is that even when we don't believe God will answer our prayer, He still may. This is why you should be careful for what you pray, because God just may answer your prayer!!!
Here's another important truth on prayer. This concerns Solomon's son, Rehoboam. 2nd Chronicles 12:14, “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.” I love that! Rehoboam failed to prepare his heart to seek the Lord. Rehoboam didn't want to seek the Lord. If he had, he would have done so. My friend, if you don't feel close to God, you need to start somewhere. The first thing that you absolutely must do is be born-again. The second thing is to be water baptized as a public profession of your faith. Although you don't have to be water baptized to get to Heaven, it is the first step of obedience as a Christian. Believers who don't get baptized rarely obey God in the other areas of their life either. You need to join a good Bible-believing church that uses only the King James Bible, goes soul-winning and teaches the simple plan of salvation (not the Satanic false plan of Lordship Salvation taught in many churches today). One of the best sermons you'll ever hear on the Christian life is by Dr. Jack Hyles, titled, “Steps In Sanctification (Or, The Root Of All Heresy).”
And finally, and this is a powerful truth on prayer. 2nd Chronicles 16:12, “And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.” King Asa lived his life as a godly king, yet he died prematurely because he sought healing from the physicians without seeking the Lord.
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer! It is important that we learn as Christians to pray about everything (1st Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6-7). If even a few seconds of our precious time each day is spent praying, to requisition help from our omnipotent God Who created us and desires to fellowship closely with us 24/7, we will be in compliance with the Holy Scriptures. That my friend is all that God expects from us. Micah 6:8, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” WHAT AN AWESOME GOD!!! END
“Nobody can
love God who doesn't love sinners!”

Happiest Man” (happiest is the man who will not impute sin to others!)
