Partakers Of Christ's Sufferings

by David J. Stewart | July 2018

1st Peter 4:16, "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."

Thank you for the encouraging words. It feels good to know that someone sees my pain and hardships, which reminds me that my omnipotent God must feel the same. There's just something about being rejected by a local church, refusing me to even attend church services, that the Devil uses to make me feel like I'm a bad person; but I know that God is proud of me for taking a stand and doing the right thing, and your kind words reminded me of that, so thank you!

I am listening right now to a beautiful MP3 sermon by Pastor Jeff Owens called, “Partakers Of Christ's Sufferings.” It is a great sermon and encouraging. Here are some quotes I just heard in the sermons:

“Suffering makes the appearing of Christ even greater.”

“Suffering is a part of the will of God.”

“Suffering can purify.”

“Don't let your suffering make you bitter, let it make you better!”

“We don't get out of suffering because we're saved.”

“Let your suffering get you closer to God.”

Brother Owens quoted this Scripture, which says we ought to glorify God when we suffer...

1st Peter 4:16, "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."

Pastor Jack Hyles preached a wonderful sermon called, “You Have No Right To Remember Your Sins.” Perhaps this will help you with your dark past (we all have a skeleton closet).

Use your sufferings to help others who are suffering. Keep a positive attitude. YOU CAN MAKE IT!!! Keep on soul-winning!!! If you're not careful you'll waste your suffering. Suffering gives us the ability to help some people, because of the understanding that suffering brings. People and life can rob us of happiness, but no one nor anything can take away our joy in the Lord Jesus Christ!

“The mark of the child of God is that he loves everybody!” (a quote from Pastor Jack Hyles' classic MP3 sermon, “FORGIVENESS”)

“Move toward God in the light you have.”
Pastor Clarence Sexton (from the awesome sermon titled, "Why Sit We Here Until We Die?")

“God will meet us when we act in faith.”
