Luke 13:23-24, “Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
The Bible says that "few" people are saved. Matthew 7:14, "Because strait
is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there
be that find it." And again the Lord said in Luke 13:23-24, "Then
said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek
to enter in, and shall not be able." Statistics show that 75% of all
Americans adhere to the Christian faith. However, we must deduct from that
false claim all of the false religions; namely, Roman Catholic, Mormons,
Jehovah Witnesses, Church of Christ, Lutherans, Christian Science, and
numerous other faiths. I searched Google and found that 29% of Americans
claim to be "born again." Unfortunately, a simply view of the Wikipedia page
on "Born Again"
reveals that even many Roman Catholics and Jehovah Witnesses also profess to
be born again, which is a lie of the Devil from a Biblical standpoint.
Hence, my personal opinion is that less than 5% of the U.S. population is truly born-again. I think that number worldwide goes even lower, less than 2%. That is my personal opinion. In Japan, less than .005% (1 in 200) of the nation's 126,000,000 citizens claim to be a Christian (and that includes all the pseudo-Christian cults). A shocking 70% of Japan's population claims to be atheist. There are 1,600,000,000 unsaved Muslims in the world. There are another 1,000,000,000 unsaved Roman Catholics. Of China's nearly 1,400,000,000 population, only 2.3% profess faith in Jesus Christ (and that includes the pseudo-Christian cults). So as you can see, the global picture is grim! Add to that another whopping 1,000,000,000 followers of Hinduism! So far we have accounted for over 5,000,000,000 of the world's 7,530,000,000 people—all hellbound in their sins without the precious Lord Jesus Christ! It is heartbreaking!
