Imagine

by David J. Stewart

“It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.” —Ecclesiastes 7:5

Beatles' member, John LennonImagine first appeared on the Billboard chart on September 18, 1971, reaching #1 and spending a total of 30 weeks. “Imagine” was John Lennon's second major release apart from the Beatles. Released on September 9, 1971 (US) and October 8, 1971 (UK), it has remained John's most commercially successful album. It was recorded primarily in John's home studio which turned out to be the last time he would ever record in England.

The first tract on the album, Imagine, would become Lennon's legacy to a world living in rebellion against God. In the song, Lennon paints an “unrealistic” picture of life in the minds of his listeners. He sees a world without Heaven or Hell, without religion. He sees a world without countries, borders and without war.

Though such a “dream may seem admirable to many people, Lennon's dream CLEARLY requires an abandonment of God and His Word. Sin is ignored. The Bible has divided more people than any other book ever written. Why is this? It's simply because there is a Heaven and Hell John. Sin is a reality of life. There is a malicious Devil who works relentlessly to DECEIVE us (2nd Corinthians 4:4; 11:3). There is a Loving God in Heaven Who has provided us with a plan of redemption through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43). Humanity is sinful (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10,19-23).

No matter how much we try to fulfill Lennon's dream, it WILL fail because humans are wicked, dirty, rotten, conniving, lying, stealing, murderous, hell-bound, sinners! This is exactly what is wrong with modern psychology. Whether you believe the Bible or not, you CANNOT deny historical facts. If history has taught us only one thing, it has taught us that men DON'T learn from their mistakes. History always repeats itself. The Bible describes the woeful condition of mankind like no other Book. Who are we to argue with God?

Here's the lyrics to Lennon's hit song Imagine (1971):

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Did you read that? Lennon sang, “Imagine there's no heaven... it's EASY if you try.” It's easy if you try? Well, not exactly John. You see Psalm 19:1 proclaims that “The heavens declare the glory of God...” It would be very difficult to deny something that is so obvious. In fact, let's look at Romans 1:20 (I'm about to discourage anyone who shares Lennon's dream of a utopian world without God)...

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" —Romans 1:20

Romans 1:20 plainly warns that no one has an excuse not to acknowledge and obey God in their life. Certainly, Lennon's message sounds wonderful. Only a hateful person would want war and bloodshed, which religion often leads to. However, John Lennon's views are not reality. War is a fact of life, because sin is a fact of life.

As long as there are lustful, greedy, proud, murderous, hateful people in the world there will be a necessity to go to war. It would be great if we were all perfect, and there were no sinners, and we could all respect and love one another; but that's not the situation at all.

We are sinners... “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.Sadly, despite the Vatican's attempt to forgive John's sins, it's too late him.

Lennon's song, Imagine, is nothing more than a delusional fantasy. Tragically, many people in the world today are trying to fulfill Lennon's impossible dream. It's the religion of New Age and it's vehicle is the New World Order, i.e., the Beast System of the coming Antichrist. New Age teachings ignore the reality of sin, the necessity for divine judgment and the justice of being punished in the fires of Hell. We all deserve to burn in Hell for our own sins. The root teaching of New Age is that mankind is not sinful, which eliminates the need for salvation and a Savior. This is not reality. Anyone with a brain sees the wickedness of mankind. Everyone blames religious people; but it's mankind as a whole.

Satan is a master deceiver... "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2nd Corinthians 11:13-14). Satan is a con-artist. When The Beatles came to America, America's preachers weren't just angry about the devilish music. They were also concerned about the worldly philosophies of The Beatles. From Paul McCartney's praise of Roman Catholicism in the hit song, Let It Be, to George Harrison's praise of Hare Krishna in his song, My Sweet Lord, The Beatles brought evil to America.

It was in the hit song, Back In The U.S.S.R., that The Beatles praised Communist Russia. One of Paul McCartney's song was titled, "Let's Do It In The Road." The Beatles represented everything unholy: fornication, drug abuse, rebellion, Communism, blasphemy against Jesus Christ, false religion, and even allegiance to Satan, as I will show you in a moment.

The Beatles and Satanism

To no surprise, tract 8 of the album, Imagine, was an obvious personal attack by John Lennon against former band member, Paul McCartney...

"How Do You Sleep?," a devastatingly powerful piece of music, was evidence that the battle between John and Paul had turned very nasty indeed. George Harrison, whose presence on the cut makes clear where his own sympathies lied, contributes the most stinging slide guitar work of his career; and John's voice, around which an unusually hard-assed string section weaves nightmarish arabesques, has never sounded more menacing. Lennon's vitriolic open letter goes on to castigate McCartney for living with "straights," for having married a nag, and for being dead after all.

But whatever disappointment some fans may have felt at McCartney's recent work, few enjoyed being witness to the execution. Musically, "How Do You Sleep?" is brilliant, in that it forces the listener to share John's anger; for that reason, many of his admirers preferred not to listen. (To drive the point home, Imagine was packaged with a postcard depicting Lennon fondling a pig — an unmistakable lampoon of Paul's Ram cover, on which McCartney fondles a ram.)

Here's the lyrics to the song How Do You Sleep?

Now I'm going to startle you a bit with some Satanism. Notice again the last part of the quote I just gave to you...

(To drive the point home, Imagine was packaged with a postcard depicting Lennon fondling a pig — an unmistakable lampoon of Paul's Ram cover, on which McCartney fondles a ram.)

Paul McCartney fondling a Ram on his album cover? Lennon fondling a pig? We know from the above quote why John Lennon fondled a pig, but why did Paul McCartney use a RAM on his album cover? The reason is obvious to anyone familiar with the occult.

Goat of Mendes -Origin of the Satanic Hand Sign? ...

"The Goat of Mendez is the god of the witches. (Mendez is another spelling of Mendes, a city of ancient Egypt where fertility worship - Baal worship -- was practiced).  Masons admit readily that Baphomet is a pagan fertility god and, more importantly, that Freemasonry is a fertility cult religion. At any rate, this mockery of Jesus is a satanic symbol and figures prominently in Satan worship."Kerr Cuhulain (Occult author, police investigator, and friend of witches)

  baphomet pentagram

Did you know that the ram and the goat are synonymous with witchcraft and Satan worship?  The Baphomet or Satanic pentagram is pointed downward to accommodate the outline of a goat's head.

Image of Ammon (12kb)Some witches today claim that the goat head is really supposed to be a ram's head (which originated with the ram-headed god of Ammon in ancient times). The photo to the right is Ammon, the Egyptian ram-god, also identified with the Greek god Zeus. A ram (a non-castrated adult male sheep), has CURVED horns (as in the center photo above); whereas, as goat has a beard and STRAIGHT horns (as in the left photo above).

BOTH symbols are utilized in today's Satanism, occult, and witchcraft circles. The Church of Satan uses the goat's head on their main webpage. The pentagram image is inherent to BOTH the goat and the ram. Whether ram or goat, BOTH animals are used to depict the works of darkness.

Notice below on Ozzy Osborne's album cover that he uses the RAM (curved horns). Do you really think it a coincidence the Paul McCartney placed a RAM on his album cover? Clearly, the music industry has an infatuation with Satanic symbolism.

On Ozzy's cover, the fans are all TOUCHING (caressing) the beast, just as McCartney is fondling the RAM on his album cover. Of course, the goat and ram represent Satan. Such affection is symbolic of one's fondness and allegiance to Satan. It is to no surprise that the Rolling Stones produced a blasphemous song titled "Sympathy for the Devil". Satan has successfully slithered his way into the hearts of America's youth through evil music.

“The Horned God, Goat of Mendes, Baphomet, God of the Witches, the scapegoat. It is a Satanist's way of mocking Christ as the 'lamb' who died for the sins of humanity.”

The innocent looking Ram's head isn't so innocent. It blasphemes the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who uses the horned hand-sign is blaspheming Jesus Christ and showing their allegiance for Satan...

The Freemasons worship the goat-headed Baphomet (pictured below), as their god of enlightenment.

satanic goatThe Beast sits atop the world. The moons may also suggest that this is the Prince of Darkness. The moon is also an accurate metaphor for Satan, masquerading as a 'source of light'

It can only reflect the true light down upon those living in darkness, and it pales in comparison.

Satan is the god of this sinful world (2nd Corinthians 4:4) and as such demands allegiance from those who desire fame, fortune and power. In Luke 4:6 and 7 Satan said to Jesus... "All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine." Although Jesus declined Satan's offer, wicked men and women have been accepting Satan's offer throughout history, worshipping the Prince of Darkness. It's simple... if you want to be massively successful in this sinful world, then you've got to sell your soul to the Devil. It's no coincidence that our highest politicians are all going around flashing Satanic hand signs. How do you think they got into power?

The most successful music artists are those with New Age occult symbols on their labels or connections to witchcraft. Elton John is one of the most successful entertainers in American history, and all his music is written by a witch, Bernie Taupin. Patricia (Kennealy) Morrison of The Doors was a Wiccan witch! Brain Wilson of The Beach Boys said in 1966 that he was trying to make "witchcraft music."

John Lennon's song IMAGINE is of the Devil, rooted in New Age philosophy...

In John Lennon's song "God," at the end of a long laundry list of things he didn’t hold belief in (Jesus, Kennedy, Buddha, Elvis, Zimmerman, Beatles), Lennon sang: "I just believe in me (Yoko and me) and that’s reality." Perhaps it’s time to revise the lyrics (at least in our minds) and add Lennon to the long list of subjects to profess disbelief in and remember the man—the conflicted and contradicting one we see in Imagine and elsewhere—instead of the myth of the holy seer perpetrated on October 2 and generally in popular culture.  Otherwise, pain becomes separated from pleasure, reality from dream, truth from lies, and Lennon from legend.

For someone who claims he didn't believe in Jesus Christ, Lennon certainly blasphemed the name of Jesus quite often. John Lennon, in his book, A Spaniard in the Works, portrays Jesus Christ as, "Jesus El Pifico, a garlic-eating, stinking little yellow, greasy fascist bastard catholic Spaniard." (A Spaniard in the Works, p.14)

Here's some of the lyrics from John Lennon's blasphemous song, Serve Yourself...

You say you found Jesus Christ
He’s the only one
You say you found Buddha
Sitting in the sun
You say you found Mohammed
Facing to the east
You say you found Krishna
Dancing in the seats

Ain't nobody gonna do it for you
Well you may believe in devils
and you may believe in lords
But Christ, you're gonna have to serve yourself and that's all there is to it.
…You got to serve yourself
Ain't nobody gonna do it for you?
You gotta serve yourself
Nobody’s gonna do for you.

Serve YourselfLennon Anthology

John Lennon's dream did come true many millenniums ago, after the flood. Noah and his wife and his three sons and their wives were the only ones to survive the flood. All humanity was killed in the flood. Only eight people survived the flood. There were no borders when they walked off the ark in Genesis 8. There were no religions. There was nothing to go to war or fight over. It wasn't even a few chapters later in the Book of Genesis, and humanity had gone once again into utter wickedness at the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11. God had to intervene and segregate mankind, separating them across the face of the earth; changing their languages and geographical locations as a safeguard (Acts 17:26-27).

Sadly, John Lennon found out on December 8th, 1980 that SERVING YOURSELF is a sure road to Hell. John did it his way. The Word of God proclaims adamantly that ONLY through Jesus Christ can anyone be saved (John 14:6; 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9; Acts 4:10-12). God does not have pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezekiel 33:11). It is NOT God's will for anyone to perish, but for all men and women to repent toward God (2nd Peter 3:9). It's Jesus or Hell. John Lennon went to Hell according to 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9.

Revelation 14:11, “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
