Beware of Vine's Greek Expository Dictionary

By David J. Stewart | December 2014

2nd Corinthians 2:17, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”

You need to be aware if you're using W.E. Vine's study aids that he was a part of the Bible corrupting movement of the late 19th century. The occultists behind the modern Bible versions made sure to cover all their bases, also producing corrupt Bible study aids to support their heretical New Age Bible versions.

The average Christian sees that the new Bibles are much easier to understand compared to the King James Bible (so they think), and so they love the new versions; but they do not have enough spiritual perception to recognize that Satan has butchered the Bible doctrinally, weakening it, removing the word godhead completely, ruthlessly attacking the deity of Christ and rendering the Word of God without the authoritativeness that is maintained in the majestic King James Bible.

Likewise, the men who gave us some of our most popular modern Greek and Hebrew study aids, like Wuest, Kittle, Briggs, Driver, Scott, Strong and Vine, catered to the Westcott, Hort and Thayer Bible-corrupting occultist gang. That's not to say that everything in their works are unreliable, it simply means that they support the satanic Alexandrian manuscripts which brutally attack Christ's deity, the Godhead, Jesus' blood on the Heavenly mercy seat, and Christ's preeminence; which means that the study aids authored by these various men cannot be wholly trusted.

Miss Riplinger points out on pages 467-468 and 472 of her awesome book titled, “Hazardous Materials”...

John MacArthur's Roots: Bad Bibles

Well-known radio teacher and author, John MacArthur, wrongly believes that it is just Christ's death that saves sinners, not His blood sacrifice for the mercy seat. Could Jesus just have had a heart attack shoveling snow when He was old? What about the Old Testament examples of the blood sacrifice? They extend from Abel, to Noah, and all throughout the entire Old Testament. The Bible says, “Without shedding of blood is no remission” (Heb. 9:22). Heb. 9:12 tell us that “By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us” (See also Rev. 11:19). Does MacArthur get his Scripture-twisters from sources such as Vine and new versions that often substitute the word “death” for the word “blood”? Why does Vine change, “through faith in his blood?” (vol. 4, p. 137). Vine says,

“The ‘blood’ of Christ stands for his death...”
“The blood does not simply denote the physical material, it stands for the death of Christ” (vol. 4, pp. 137,251).

Vine writes heresy about “the blood” in his essay entitled, “The Table of The Lord and The Lord's Supper.” He feels that the ‘blood’ is simply used to “illustrate” his death, just as the term the “table” of The Lord illustrates the communion. The blood was not merely a ‘picture.’ It was God's blood offered for our sins.

Vine and MacArthur share another subtle theological error. Tinges of MacArthur's Lordship Salvation mar Vine's interpretations (based on Vine's rendition of Rom. 10:9). Vine says,

“When he expounds the conditions upon which salvation is to be possessed, he stresses the necessity of acknowledging the Lordship of Christ: If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord” (bold mine, vol. 4, p. 117; vol. 1, p. 403).

Vine changes the KJV's text from the reading, “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus...” to “confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord” (Vine and his R.V. contradict themselves by omitting “Lord” many times and also by demoting our “Lord” to a mere ‘Master’ (e.g., vol. 4, p. 130). ...

Vine's Other Corrupt Sources

When you read Vine's you are not reading ‘Greek’; you are really reading Westcott, Hort and Thayer. You are not reading ‘Hebrew’; you are reading Gesenius' and his Old Testament Lexicon. Vine's additional sources are listed here in bold type (vol. 1, p. 34). (All of these men's heresies have merited a chapter in this book or a discussion in the author's other books New Age Bible Versions, The Language of the King James Bible, or In Awe of Thy Word.)

Vine's An Expository Dictionary of Old Testament Words recommends the following materials which were available during Vine's life (Old Tappan, N.J.; Fleming Revell Company, 1978, see the bibliography of David Huttar, pp. 169, 172, 173, 176).

  • Rudolf Kittel's corrupt pre-Nazi German-propelled Old Testament Biblia Hebraica, with its notes critical of the pure Hebrew text.
  • Gesenius' Hebrew Grammar
  • C.A. Briggs and S.R. Driver's, The International Critical Commentary
  • Francis Brown (Driver and Briggs), A Hebrew and English Lexicon of the Old Testament.

Every pastor, evangelist, Bible teacher, layman and preacher needs to understand that many of the modern Greek and Hebrew study aids (like Strong's, Vine's and Kittel's) were authored at the same time (the late 19th century), by the same compromisers (the Westcott and Hort gang) who were Luciferian-worshipping occultists, who gave us the modern corrupted Bible translations. Occult Roots Of The Modern Bible Versions (tons of occult information on Westcott and Hort). The whole tree is rotten and has brought forth corrupt fruits.

The Devil is a liar, is a liar, is a liar! Satan is a beautiful liar! One of the biggest frauds ever perpetrated upon the human race are the new, modernized, corrupt, Bible versions. Tragically, most pastors and churches have bought into the Devil's lie, embracing the new PERverted Bible versions. Every modern Bible version is corrupt, originating from the work of heretics Westcott and Hort.
