Why David Was a Man After God's Own Heart

by David J. Stewart | November 2016

Psalms 139:17, “How precious also are thy thoughtsunto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!”

I've heard preachers all my life attempt to analyze why David was a man after God's own heart. But I think the Bible gives us the answer in our text Verse from Psalms 139:17. David exclaimed to the Lord... “HOW PRECIOUS ALSO ARE THY THOUGHTS UNTO ME!!! David was a man after God's own heart, because he was a man after God's own thoughts.

I love the King James Bible!!! I love the precious Scriptures! I was thinking tonight how David would have loved to have the New Testament. I was thinking in particular of one of my favorite passages from Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” I love that Scripture. It means Jesus lives the Christian life through me.

Most baby believers try to live the Christian life in their own strength and fail utterly. In time, they learn the truth from God's Word, that we live the Christian life by abiding in the holy Scriptures, and yielding in obedience to the Holy Spirit's guidance from the Scriptures. That's why we read in Galatians 2:20b that, “CHRIST LIVETH IN ME.” 2nd Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” The Word of God is our only authority in all matters of faith, morality and life!

But that's not all. Please notice what David said in Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” If king David were alive today, he would be absolutely outraged at the ridiculous, confusing, satanic, Bible corrupting movement in America today. According to the American Bible Society, there are now approximately 900 English Bible revisions!!! David said that the reason for which he loved God's Words is because THEY ARE VERY PURE!!! Did you know that the NIV 2011 differs in content from the NIV 1984 by 38.8%? It's is true my friend. The New International Version (NIV) is the Bible that keeps changing!!! Those rotten scoundrels butchered God's Word for money, and they're still butchering it mercilessly! David would have been very upset and doing exactly what I am doing for the Lord, that is, EXPOSING THE WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING!!!

1st Samuel 13:14b, “the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart.” I believe the reason why God called David a man after His own heart, is because David was a man after God's own thoughts (i.e., God's Word). David loved the holy Bible. He loved God's law, statutes and commandments. Sadly, few pastors today truly love God's Word, which is why they don't care about the purity of the Bible. The average church today has dozens of Bible versions circulating in the congregation. It is sickening! Like David, I love God's Words because they are VERY PURE!!! That's why I love the inspired King James Bible. I hate the false versions. I hate every false way. Psalms 119:104, “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” No one is right with God who loves the modern Bible PERversions! I hate corruptible words! I hate the Devil's counterfeit Bible revisions; such as, the New International Version (NIV), the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV), The Voice (VOICE), the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB), et cetera. These were all translated from the corrupted Alexandrian texts.

God hates corrupt Bibles! Satan is changing the truth of God into a lie, to deceive and destroy lives (Romans 1:25). Have you believed a lie? Please only use the King James Bible. Don't trust anybody theologically who uses anything other than a King James Bible. Don't trust any preacher who uses the King James Bible plus the Alexandrian revisions. No true man of God would settle for two drastically different Bible manuscripts. God only wrote One Book!!! David loved God's Words because they were VERY PURE!!! I believe this is why David was a man after God's own heart. God hates every false way. The holy Bible is THE TRUTH! Proverbs 14:5, “A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.” Our churches are filled with liars today, who preach from corruptible word. They don't mean to lie, but they cannot help it if they are using the Alexandrian revisions, which are filled with lies.

My parents named me after king David in the Old Testament. My middle name, John, was named after John the Baptist. I have a passion for the very pure words of God, as did David. And I am a preacher crying in the wildness of cyberspace, like John the Baptist. I like my name. I like that I was named after king David, a humble shepherd with the heart of a lion; and John the Baptist, a plain man, who lived alone, and made an impact for God. Psalms 139:17, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!”
